Competition

Since 1973, the Livermore-Amador Symphony Association has conducted an annual Competition for Young Musicians. Held in late October, the winners perform as soloists with the Symphony at its February concert and receive a monetary award. horn players, LASYO 2010

Youth Orchestra

In August 2009, the Livermore-Amador Symphony Youth Orchestra (LASYO) gave its first performance. The 2011 LASYO concert was on August 6, 2011. Learn more: click here.

Awards to Seniors in High School

Each year the Livermore-Amador Symphony Association presents the following awards to graduating high school seniors: the Association Award, the John H. Green Memorial Award, and the Bill King Memorial Award. The purpose of these awards is to recognize students who have made significant contributions to school and community musical activities. LAS Student Players

In addition, the Symphony Association from December 2008 through May 2011 presented "Scholarship for Musical Excellence" awards to high school students (who were not necessarily seniors) who played in the Symphony.
